Functions don't work

I have one request that would help me immensely for the Community Edition I have deployed.

 

None of the documented basic functions work, in particular TRIM, MID or SUBSTRING, LEN, LEFT, RIGHT, CONVERT.

 

If you could help me to get these working in the Community Edition it would help me greatly, because I currently have some data cleansing that needs to be done at input time, but without the base function library working, I can't do anything.

 

Alternately, I can easily write my own function in VB, but I'm not sure how to interface this to the dataflow.

  What is the error you're getting when trying to use these functions?

  Hi Mike and thanks for your response.

  I am trying to enhancment an existing Expression from my_field1 + my_field2 to TRIM(my_field1) + my_field2.

  • When I enter and Compile this, underneath in the Compile Status I get Not Compiled, and in Message I get Invalid identifier <TRIM>
  • I also notice when entering the expression itself I have very limited values in the auto-populate drop down of: and, false, null_boolean, null_date, null_integer, null_real, null_string, or, true. I don't see any other functions such as TRIM, IF like I see in the help text examples.
  • I also note the box underneath Categories is completely empty.

  A screenshot of all is attached for reference and I am wondering if there is something missing from my base installation.

  I am using Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Service Pack 1 and Centerprise Data Integrator Version 5.1.281.0 Community Edition.
