So I'm pretty clear on how to retrieve files using the FTP task. Works like a charm.
However, a problem arises for client who send their files that do not have stagnant file names. For example, we have clients who send files that are appended with the days date.
Demographics.12.8.2011
Demographics.12.9.2011
Etc.
How do I configure the FTP task to retrieve such files on a scheduled basis? Some sort of parameter?

When using the FTP Task, you don't have to specify the exact file name. You can use a wildcard such as Demographics.* instead of Demographics.12.8.2011.
Keep in mind that this would download all such files.
So there is no way to use some kind of expression like "Today()" ?
The wild cards are pretty limited here. You cannot use expressions in this area.
How about a reader that can list the files in a directory? You would then be able to filter that list and use it in a loop in conjunction with an ftp download?
What I ended up doing was create a method in my custom plugins DLL which returns the name of the file to use, then passes that to the FTP task (since the file name format is completely predictable).
